ABSTRACT:
A process for performing the electroimmunomigration step (the second phase of a crossed-electro-phoresis process) for separating protein-containing biological fluids. The chamber utilized in practicing the process preferably includes a base plate having a well defined therein, a depot subdividing the well into migration and connecting wells, and a device for defining a vertically variable gap in the depot so that a first carrier having a protein-containing sample in the depot is in contact with a second carrier in the migratory well and/or connecting well. Various devices may be provided for particularly defining the gap, and for defining the depot and the areas of the wells adjacent the depot.
