ABSTRACT:
The present invention10discloses a chalkboard cleaning device that is mountable to a conventional chalkboard12providing means for selectively cleaning parts thereof. The present invention10is comprised of a rail18mounted to the top edge of an existing chalkboard12having the cleaning apparatus20attached thereto and extending from the top to the bottom edge of the board12. The present invention10is comprised of an adjustable frame30and sponge20which is trimmed at the time of installation to fit the adjusted frame size. The frame30has a tensioned40rail18engaging element27for selectively moving the cleaning apparatus20to a desired point to be cleaned. Once positioned the apparatus10has a pump26and fluid containing reservoir22in communication with sponge20whereby pressure applied to the pump button48releases fluid54into the body of the sponge20whereupon movement of the cleaning apparatus by means of the handle24cleans the selected area. The fluid reservoir22has a cap34for refilling the reservoir on site or the reservoir can be dismounted for refilling and remounted. Additionally, the present invention10provides for an alternate pump mechanism26wherein the fluid spray54is applied to the chalkboard12adjacent the sponge20.
