ABSTRACT:
A chair has a seat1and a backrest2and the backrest2is allowed to be tilted backward by elastic deformation of right and left back frame devices4. The right and left back frame devices4each are composed of two unit frames43and44. The back frame device4has a main portion4awhich are disposed outside the right and left sides of the seat1, upper inward portions43aand44awhich are connected to an upper rear end of the main portion4a, lower inward portions43band44bwhich go under the seat1from a lower end portion of the main portion4a, and forward end portions43cand44cwhich are integrally connected to the lower inward portions43band44b. The forward end portions43cand44care fixed to the base7. The back frame device4can be largely elastically deformed with the combination of a characteristic in which the back frame device is long, a characteristic in which the back frame device has the lower inward portions43band44b, and a characteristic in which the back frame device has the forward end portions43cand44c. Accordingly, the backrest2can be tilted backward at a large angle.
