ABSTRACT:
An improved centrifugal pump is disclosed comprising a slip ring arranged around a central opening of a guidevane proximate the intake conduit shoulder of an impeller which is positioned, dimensioned and formed from a material sufficient to creat a lamellar interface between fluid movement on either side of the guidevane which retards the abrading effect of sheering forces at a point of critical clearance among the guidevane and the rotating impeller conduit shoulder.
