Cationic chemically modified asphalts having utility for road construction, repair and maintenance as well as coating for various substrates, including cementitious substrates, glass and metal are provided. These asphalts are the product produced by reacting an acrylamide, asphalt, a vinyl aromatic monomer and a rubbery polymer.
