ABSTRACT:
A catheter set comprises a syringe, a mandrin attachable to the syringe, a plastic canula that fits over the mandrin and a catheter attachable to a syringe and insertable through the canula when the mandrin is removed. The mandrin has a length of at least 50 mm and the tip of the mandrin is ground at an angle of at least 40.degree. to the axis of the mandrin. Two facets are ground on opposite sides respectively of the mandrin tip. Small holes spaced in a lengthwise direction in the first 15 mm from the inner end of a catheter having an insertion length of 8 cm to 10 cm are circumferentially offset from one another.
