ABSTRACT:
A sealed-off CO.sub.2 laser employs a catalyst to promote the recombination of CO and oxygen. The catalyst is loosely contained within a catalyst holder having a plurality of apertures and the catalyst is brought into contact with the gas by means of the pressure pulse caused by the electric discharge.
