ABSTRACT:
A catalytic combustor wood stove is presented having a combustor ignitor plate which promotes turbulence and mixing of combustion gases with air from a distributed primary air supply to deliver thoroughly mixed gas to the catalytic combustor to light off the combustor at low firebox temperature (in the range of 400.degree. to 500.degree. F.) but operate the combustor at high temperature on the order of 1000.degree. F. to 1200.degree. F. or higher.
