ABSTRACT:
A process is disclosed for the production, selectively, of C.sub.n+1 alcohols from a C.sub.n olefin. The process comprises reacting the C.sub.n olefin with carbon monoxide and hydrogen in the presence of a catalyst consisting essentially of molybdenum sulfide and an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal compound.
