ABSTRACT:
Oxides of nitrogen (NO.sub.x) emissions are catalytically reduced by contacting a flue gas contain NO.sub.x with a carbonaceous substance, preferably sponge coke or coal, in the presence of a catalyst effective for promoting the reduction of NO.sub.x in the presence of such carbonaceous substances.
