ABSTRACT:
The invention relates to a process for the conversion of ethane to liquid aromatic hydrocarbons comprising contacting, at a temperature of from about 500.degree. C. to about 700.degree. C., an ethane rich feedstock with a catalyst comprising a gallium modified molecular sieve catalyst, promoted with rhenium and a metal selected from the group consisting of nickel, palladium, platinum, rhodium and iridium.
