ABSTRACT:
A process for preparing acrylonitrile from propylene, which comprises contacting a mixture of propylene, molecular oxygen and ammonia in the vapor phase at a temperature of about 380.degree. to about 500.degree. C. and a pressure of about atmospheric pressure to about 3 Kg/cm.sup.2 -G with a catalyst composition comprising active components of the following empirical formula
