ABSTRACT:
A catalyst for purifying an exhaust gas to remove nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons from an oxygen rich exhaust gas containing the same, comprising (i) a zeolite having an SiO.sub.2 /Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 mole ratio of at least 15 and (ii) (a) silver and, optionally, (b) an alkali metal and/or an alkaline earth metal incorporated therein.
