ABSTRACT:
A catalyst composition for hydrogenative purification of hydrocarbons contains a divalent oxide such as CoO, a polyvalent oxide such as MoO.sub.3, pseudobohmite and/or pseudogamma alumina and preferably also a clay mineral and is made using a defined procedure in which active components are added before and after shaping by wet granulation or extrusion.
