ABSTRACT:
The disclosure teaches improved cast copper alloys exhibiting surprisingly good hot rollability and a method of processing copper base alloys to provide cast structures having good hot rollability, especially those containing silicon and tin. In accordance with the method of the invention, ingots are direct chill cast in a mold from liquid metal wherein the melt temperature entering the mold is 100.degree. to 350.degree. C. in excess of the liquidus temperature.
