ABSTRACT:
Carrier catalysts for oxidizing carbon monoxide at temperatures below about 50.degree. C. produced by applying a gold compound to a porous ceramic comprising Fe.sub.2 O.sub.3 and calcining the resulting gold-containing carrier at a temperature of at least 200.degree. C., the process of producing such catalysts, and the use of such catalysts to oxidize carbon monoxide are described.
