ABSTRACT:
A system and method for driving a carriage of a serial printer. The printer is operated such that Fourier components of a speed in one reciprocal movement of the carriage can be expressed by Fourier components of lower degrees. At the same time, carriage vibrations can be suppressed, and printing can be performed at high speed. Almost no approach range is assured, and the printer can be made compact.
