ABSTRACT:
Protein engineered CrtO ketolases isolated fromRhodococcus erythropolisAN12 are provided having increased carotenoid ketolase activity. Methods using the present CrtO ketolases are also provided for increasing ketocarotenoid production in suitable production hosts.
