ABSTRACT:
A retaining member16is provided for use with a frame10for packaging elongate members, such as sections of drill pipe. The retaining member16comprises a pressure plate18on which is mounted a pair of pivoting hooks20for engaging with protrusions36formed on the frame10. The hooks20are connected to threaded rods28received in a sleeve30. A ratcheted handle34allows selective rotation of the sleeve30to draw the rods28therein, and to pivot the hooks20to urge the pressure plate18against members received within the frame10. A quick release mechanism is provided to allow easy release of the hooks20and the retaining member16.
