ABSTRACT:
An auxiliary air intake passageway provided with a fuel jet opens into the main barrel between the main throttle and the intake manifold. A valve permits auxiliary air-fuel mixture to flow into the main barrel through the air intake passageway when the vacuum in the intake manifold exceeds a certain value during deceleration of the vehicle. The auxiliary mixture supply prevents excessive reduction of the exhaust gas temperature and resulting emission of unburned pollutants.
