ABSTRACT:
A novel carburetor is provided which maintains a substantially constant fuel/air ratio in accordance with the density of the incoming air by variably controlling the fuel level in the carburetor fuel bowl. To accomplish this, a first and second lever are positioned between the fuel inlet valve to the carburetor fuel bowl and the float in the fuel bowl so that the position of each lever variably and independently variably controls the vertical position of the float at the point of closure of the fuel inlet valve, and hence the fuel level in the fuel bowl. An aneroid bellows controls the position of one lever while a temperature element controls the position of the other whereby the fuel level in the fuel bowl is proportionate to both air pressure and temperature, and hence the air density.
