ABSTRACT:
A commutator comprises a plurality of commutator terminals each having a contact part12and a separate terminal part13, first and second supports10and11, respectively, of insulating material for supporting the contact parts and the terminal parts, respectively, and a plurality of carbon segments14formed on the first support10and over the contact parts12, respectively, of the terminals. The terminal parts13each comprise a first portion24to which armature winding wire of a motor can be connected by a thermal connection process and a second portion25for making a mechanical connection with a respective contact part.
