ABSTRACT:
A carbon fiber having its surface coated with a copolymer composed of a diamine compound, a dicarboxylic acid compound and a glycidyl polyalkylene oxide derivative of the following formula (I), wherein the copolymer contains said polyalkylene oxide derivative in an amount of from 10 to 50% by weight as in the monomer composition: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is H or an alkyl group having not more than 20 carbon atoms, R.sup.2 is H or CH.sub.3, and n is an integer of from 1 to 40.
