ABSTRACT:
A carbon black pelleter comprising a pinned shaft rotatably arranged in a housing with the pin density being essentially constant over the entire shaft and with the further provision that not more than about 3% of the pins are located at the same axial location and that not more than about 10% of the pins are located at the same azimuthal location is provided for. The pins are arranged on at least one defective helix being defined by the fact that the location of the pins on the shaft is essentially that of a helically shaped line but that the pitch of axially adjacent pins, defined by the formula
