Compounds which improve extreme pressure and anti-wear properties of lubricating compositions are described. The compounds include the compounds of the following formula as well as statistical mixtures of those compounds: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is hydrogen or hydrocarbyl; R.sub.2 is hydrocarbyl having at least 4 carbon atoms or together with R.sub.1 forms a heterocyclic radical,
