There is disclosed a reagent composition for cancer diagnosis which is composed of a mercurous salt and a mercuric salt wherein the mercurous salt is Hg.sub.2 (NO.sub.3).sub.2 and the mercuric salt is mercuric sulfate or, its hydrate or mercuric oxide.
