The camera module comprises: an insulating substrate13having an imaging device18on a front face thereof and a plurality of solder balls21on a rear face thereof; a cylindrical lens holder14securely fixed on the substrate13, composed of an upper large-diameter portion14-1and a lower small-diameter portion14-2and having a lens15therein; a cylindrical shield12fitted onto the small-diameter portion14-2of the lens holder and composed of a cylindrical side portion12-2fixed on the large-diameter portion14-1of the lens holder and a plate-shaped bottom portion12-1in contact with the rear face of the insulating substrate13and having an opening12-1afor conduction; and a mounting board11connected with the insulating substrate13by the plurality of solder balls21formed on the rear face of the insulating substrate13.
