ABSTRACT:
A novel calpain inhibitory active and low molecular weight substance, cystamidin A and its production are provided. Cystamidin A of the following formula ##STR1## was produced by culturing Streptomyces sp. KP-1241 FERM BP-41 71 in a nutrient medium and isolating the active substance from the cultured mass.
