ABSTRACT:
Calcium sulphate hemihydrate plaster slurry comprising a set-inhibiting agent, for example, a polymer or copolymer of an acid having the formula R.sup.1 HC.dbd.CR.sup.2 --COOH wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are hydrogen or methyl. The invention also includes a method of rapid setting of the inhibited slurry by mixing therewith a promoter comprising a salt of iron, copper or aluminium.
