The head and the strap body include cooperative locking means for securing the strap in the head of the bundling tie. The tail of the bundling tie includes outwardly projecting tactile elements for enhancing the gripability of the tail to facilitate pulling the strap body through the head of the bundling tie. The head and the tail also permit the removable holding of the tail in the head of the bundling tie prior to locking engagement of the strap body with the head.
