ABSTRACT:
A cable and method of monitoring the aging of critical cable components in-situ. The cable includes a specimen element which is located in proximity to the individual conductors of the cable. The cable and specimen element are exposed to similar aging stressors, and the aging of the specimen element is analyzed to estimate the aging of the installed cable in a completely non-destructive manner.
