A shock absorbing member attaching structure for attaching a shock absorbing member12made from a resin to a bumper beam11of a vehicle body, characterized in that protruding portions22, 23which protrude in opposite directions are provided on the bumper beam11, and in that attaching portions31, 32are provided on the shock absorbing member12which are adapted to ride over the respective protruding portions22, 23by virtue of elastic deformation thereof to be locked onto the protruding portions22, 23on a longitudinally inward side thereof.
