ABSTRACT:
A bump stop device comprises a bearing20provided with two bottom22and top24metal washers between which rolling bodies26are arranged. A friction ring34is fixed to the first of the bottom and top metal washers and rubs against the other metal washer in order to create a static frictional torque that is greater than that of the rolling bodies and, in practice, greater than 1 Nm. The friction ring34makes it possible to generate a controlled resisting torque that limits the transmission to the steering column of the torque generated when driving the vehicle on a convex road.
