ABSTRACT:
The delivery unit includes a transfer member in the form of a linear transfer plunger or slide that acts to transfer controlled amounts of lubricant from a loading chamber to a delivery chamber for delivery by air pressure to the casting apparatus. Various delivery units are included arranged in three groups having similar characteristics including a charge control mechanism and the form of the transfer plunger. Various arrangements of die casting apparatus with a lubricant delivery unit for delivering lubricant into selected locations of a die casting machine are also included.
