ABSTRACT:
The invention is comprised of a plurality of parallel spaced-apart stud members with a plurality of blocks positioned between adjacent stud members. A plurality of straps are positioned around alternate stud members to form a lattice assembly. When the straps are tightened, the blocks are held within the lattice assembly. The entire lattice assembly is surfaced with a layer of concrete, plaster, or other suitable building material to provide a load bearing building structure. Providing that the surface material can withstand the abuses of weather, the building structure of the invention may be used for exterior walls and roofs. In a specific embodiment in which the blocks are of a foamed polystyrene insulating material the invention provides a better insulated building structure that conventional construction.
