A rectangular building block is formed from a composition of wood fiber and a thermoplastic or thermosetting resin. The block comprises an outer shell and a web defining a plurality of hexagonal cross-sectional openings forming a honeycomb cell within the shell. The blocks may be interlocked and arranged to form a structure.
