ABSTRACT:
A brush bearing sub-assembly for an electric motor includes a generally U-shaped plate having an aperture into which the motor commutator is fitted. The plate includes integral walls on one side for retaining rectangular brushes in correspondingly-shaped brush holders, and springs for biasing each brush towards the central aperture. A circuit pattern imbedded in the plate provides a path for carrying power from power input terminals through the springs to the brushes and motor field windings.
