ABSTRACT:
A breakaway basketball goal includes rim structure which pivots about self-lubricating bearings when a predetermined force is applied to the rim. The goal further includes a spring-held clamp which engages a shaft, and a rigid member having a looped end encircling the shaft. When the predetermined force is applied to the rim, the rigid member pivots about the shaft and the clamp pivots about a pin.
