ABSTRACT:
A brake booster apparatus for a vehicle has a constant pressure chamber, a variable pressure chamber, a control valve, a power piston, a plunger member and a solenoid coil. The plunger member is actuated under the energized condition of the solenoid coil. The power piston is actuated in response to the depression of a brake pedal and/or plunger movement. The output force of the brake booster is amplified by the pressure difference between the variable and constant pressure chambers. A clearance is provided between the input member and the plunger member to permit relative movement of the input member and the plunger member. The relative movement generates a continuous variable output force of the brake booster.
