ABSTRACT:
A booster and charger unit for a hand-held portable (HHP) telephone capable of preventing a casing of the unit from being heated to an excessive temperature. The casing has thereinside a charging device for charging a battery, which is installed in the telephone, and a temperature sensor responsive to the temperature of the casing. When the temperature of the casing sensed by the sensor rises to a predetermined level, charging by the charging device is interrupted or the charging current thereof is reduced.
