ABSTRACT:
A compact bookshelf type record player having substantially the width as the width of the turntable. A motor slide plate is slidably mounted through a front opening in the player cabinet and slidable between fully retracted, record playing and record changing positions. A tone arm is mounted on the slide plate in such a manner that it can be swung out of the way completely to the rear of the slide plate when not in use. The positions of the slide plate are controlled by operation of a main switch which is of the push-push type with the D.C. motor providing the positioning force.
