ABSTRACT:
A holder for both paperback and hardback books includes a spreader bar having finger-like page holders at each end thereof and a hairpin-like spine gripping member in the center. A stand member of wire-form construction is pivotally mounted on the spreader bar and is pivotable from a position placing the book upright, to a lower, inclined position wherein side arms of the stand serve as the support. In one form, friction hinges permit the book to be supported at different angles. The spine gripping member slides over the spine of the book while the page holders hold the pages in the open condition for reading.
