ABSTRACT:
A method of bleaching olefin sulfonates, which comprises adding more than 0.1% by weight of hydrogen peroxide, with more than 0.1% by weight of phosphate alone or silicate alone or a mixture of the two, to an olefin sulfonate having 12 to 22 carbon atoms, and treating at a temperature in the range of from 30.degree. to 130.degree. C.
