ABSTRACT:
Novel bisphosphonite compounds of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are each independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and alkyl of from 1 to 10 carbon atoms, and R is selected from the group consisting of cyclic, straight or branched chain alkyl of from 5 to 12 carbon atoms, straight or branched chain haloalkyl of from 1 to 12 carbon atoms, phenyl, and alkyl substituted phenyl wherein each alkyl is from 1 to 12 carbon atoms.
The compounds are useful as intermediates for the production of polymers, insecticides, fungicides, pharmaceuticals, catalyst activators, flame retardants and particularly stabilizers, e.g., anti-oxidants.
