ABSTRACT:
A bislactone compound represented by the general formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 each independently represent a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 6 or less carbon atoms, and R.sub.3, R.sub.4, R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, a hydroxy group or an alkyl group having 6 or less carbon atoms, which is useful as a stabilizer for polymers and as a raw material of a positive type resist:
