ABSTRACT:
A process for the preparation of phenylene-bis-phosphineoxide compounds by reacting in a polar aprotic solvent a difluorobenzene compound with a compound of the general formula ##STR1## wherein Me is an alkali metal, R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 each independently represents an alkyl-, aryl-, alkaryl- or aralkyl group, or R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 together form an alkylene group.
