The invention relates to the biphenyldiols of the formula (V)The corresponding racemic and enantiomerically pure triflate compounds thereof, where R1and R2are H, R3is chlorine, and R4is methoxy.In an alternate embodiment, R1and R2are hydrogen and R3and R4are C1-C4-alkoxy, fluorine, or chlorine.
