ABSTRACT:
A Bioluminescent Paintball10includes a shell12defining an interior cavity14, a liquefied substance16disposed within the interior cavity14, a phosphorescent material18disbursed throughout the shell12for providing a visible “tracing” effect when the bioluminescent paintball10is ejected from a paintball discharge device, a neutralizing agent20disbursed throughout the liquefied substance16for neutralizing calcium disbursed throughout the liquefied substance16thereby preventing light emission before the paintball10impacts a target, and a photoprotein22disbursed throughout the liquefied substance16for reacting with calcium disposed upon a target after the bioluminescent paintball10impacts the target, thereby rupturing the shell12and allowing the liquefied substance16to engage the calcium to produce visible light.A paintball100includes a shell102defining an interior cavity104, an insoluble coating106disposed upon an inner surface108of the shell102, and an aqueous material110disposed within the cavity104such that the aqueous material110engages the insoluble coating106, thereby preventing the aqueous material110from dissolving the shell102, and promoting the marking of a target via the aqueous material110when the paintball100forcibly engages the target and ruptures the shell102.
