ABSTRACT:
New oligoesters made from a tricyclic diol with 8 to 20 carbon atoms, a dicarboxylic acid with 4 to 20 carbon atoms, and an aliphatic alcohol with 1 to 30 carbon atoms are useful as lubricants, hydraulic oils and compressor oils for mobile field use in forestry and agriculture, in construction, in mining and in transport. The oligoesters have a kinematic viscosity of 50 to 50,000 mm.sup.2 /s at 40.degree. C. and are biodegradable.
