Azolyl-propanenitriles are disclosed, of the formula ##STR1## in which R is an aromatic hydrocarbon or an aromatic hydrocarbon substituted one or more times, the same or differently by halogen, (C.sub.1 -C.sub.4)-alkyl, (C.sub.1 -C.sub.4)-alkoxy, trifluoromethyl, cyano or nitro, R.sub.1 is C.sub.3 -C.sub.8 cycloalkyl or C.sub.3 -C.sub.8 cycloalkyl substituted by C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkyl and
